Did you know that the majority of authors decide to use Mailchimp as their email service provider to their business’s detriment simply because it has a free program?
What if I told you there’s an even BETTER email service provider with an even BETTER free program?
That’s right. Mailerlite has a FREE program for users as well and it’s so much more robust than the free version Mailchimp is giving you.
Let me run down my favorite reasons to use Mailerlite and maybe you’ll see that Mailchimp might not be all it’s cracked up to be.
#1 – Well, I might as well start with the big one. It has a FREE version.
Mailerlite is free for up to 1,000 subscribers and their free program doesn’t limit your ability to use their software to its fullest.
You have access to almost all of the tools Mailerlite has to offer. Mailchimp forces you to upgrade to a paid service for the same things Mailerlite gives you for free.
And then they add in unlimited workflows, their landing pages, pop-ups and so much more.
Even better?
You get a free 14-day trial to try all of the upgraded features too.
#2 – The price – if you want or need to upgrade to a paid plan, you’re hands down paying less than comparable programs out there.
Let’s take a list of 5,000 subscribers.
With a service like Mailchimp, you’ll pay a starting rate of $79 USD and up.
With Mailerlite, you’ll pay $30 USD. The end. You get everything they have for that. There are no hidden fees.
Compare this with Mailchimp, ConvertKit, Constant Contact, and more and you’ll find that they are competitively priced.
#3 – Customer service
Mailerlite has incredible customer service, and in my opinion, it’s more important than price. You might not think so until you have a need for it, then you’ll see just what I mean. Especially if you’re on a paid plan. Their 24-hour live chat service is worth the upgrade to a paid plan even if you’re within the free plan’s limits (free plans for subscribers under 1,000 do not include live chat customer service).
I have a small list of 500 subscribers and pay for them at the rate of $5 USD/month just to keep their chat service around.
I’ve tried it daytime, nighttime, and in the middle of the night, and every single time I’ve gotten an answer within minutes, and when they can’t offer the solution, the escalation process is typically within 24 hours.
Flodesk users are waiting days if not weeks to get an issue fixed from reach out to completion these days.
#4 – Deliverability
This past March of 2021, Mailerlite was named the most deliverable email marketing service by EmailToolTester.
Deliverability could be argued as the most important function of your email service provider because if the email isn’t landing in your subscriber’s inbox, what’s the point?
It is the most consistent email service provider and lands in spam folders the least out of all the providers out there.
#5 – Easy to use
It might seem like a lame reason, but Mailerlite is just easy to use. Everything is clearly labeled, and the flow just makes sense.
The drag and drop campaigns make building a high-performing yet attractive email so simple it doesn’t take a design degree. It’s so easy to find a block you want to add to your email and just drag it into your email.
And then if you use that format frequently? Just save it as a template and it’s drag and drop every single time!
It really is a simple system to beautiful, deliverable emails with Mailerlite.
Bonus Reason – I have a LOT of bonus reasons and in subsequent blogs, you’ll hear all about them but today, I wanted to highlight one I use the most. Embedded surveys.
Want to ask your readers some questions?
Want to get them to help you choose images for your book?
Want to do some market research?
All you do is drag and drop their survey block right into your email and then export your results in a CSV file.
All of my clients use this and love it. And for me? I embed surveys into my welcome sequence, weekly emails, and more!
Surveys are great for engagement and business data and Mailerlite has them built-in!
